An Evacuation Alert has been issued tonight, Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 7:30 pm, in response to the Bald Range Wildfire (K51490) for Chain Lake, Bankeir, Link Lake, Osprey Lake and Mazama in Electoral Area “H”

The Evacuation Alert is in effect for the following area:

 What is an Evacuation Alert? This evacuation alert has been issued to prepare you for evacuation should it be necessary for your premises or property. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation; however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.   

If camping or recreating in the alert area, please be ready to evacuate.  

Get your grab-and-go bag, a small emergency kit that is easy to take with you, in case you need to leave right away.

Residents under an evacuation order should leave their properties immediately to keep safe. 

Evacuation Order Information

BC Evacuee Helpline: 1-800-387-4258 

Residents under an Evacuation Order should register for Emergency Support Services (ESS) even if they don’t require specific supports.  

Residents under an evacuation order must evacuate to the evacuee reception centres located at:  

Emergency Support Services (ESS) centres are open and ready to support evacuees at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre as well as locations in West Kelowna, Chilliwack and Princeton.

  1. Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, 273 Power Street, Penticton (9:00 am to 6:00 pm)
  2. Westbank Lions Community Hall, 2466 Main Street, West Kelowna 
  3. Chilliwack Reception Centre, 44680 Scheyey Rd, Chilliwack (10:00 am – 6:00 pm) 
  4. Okanagan Regional Library, Princeton Branch, 107 Vermilion Avenue, Princeton
