Property Tax Exemptions - for Non-Profit Organizations

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen recognizes the significant value of volunteers, volunteer groups and agencies to the spiritual, educational, social, cultural, and physical well-being of the region. 

These non-profit organizations have the opportunity to apply for a Property Tax Exemption. Please see the Property Tax Exemption Guidelines for eligibility criteria.

The deadline for submitting completed application forms including supporting documentation is JULY 31, 2024

Successful applicants may be asked to publicly acknowledge the exemption.

2023 Property Tax Exemption Recipients

Annual Utilities Invoices will be mailed in early June 2023,  due date will be August 31, 2023.

Annual utilities include:

  • Garbage & Recycling Curbside Fee for Areas A, B, C, D, E, F, G, I and Red Wing 
  • Olalla Water
  • Sun Valley Water
  • Willowbrook Water
  • Missezula Lake Water
  • Gallagher Lake Sewer
  • Apex Transfer Station

All 2023 unpaid accounts after August 31, 2023 will have a 10% late penalty apllied

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2023 will be transferred to property taxes.

Okanagan Falls 2023 Due Dates

1st Quarter - May 12, 2023

2nd Quarter - June 30, 2023

3rd Quarter - September 15, 2023

4th Quarter - December 15, 2023

All Okanagan Falls accounts that have an unpaid balance at December 15, 2023 will be charged a 10% penalty for late payment on the outstanding 2023 amount.

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2023 will be transferred to property taxes.

Naramata 2023 Due Dates

1st Quarter - March 24, 2023

2nd Quarter - June 16, 2023

3rd Quarter - September 15, 2023

4th Quarter - December 15, 2023

All Naramata accounts that have an unpaid balance at December 15, 2023 will be charged a 10% penalty for late payment on the outstanding 2023 amount.

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2023 will be transferred to property taxes.

West Bench 2023 Due Dates

1st Quarter - May 26, 2023

2nd Quarter - August 25, 2023

3rd Quarter - November 17, 2023

4th Quarter - February 16, 2024

All West Bench accounts that have an unpaid balance at December 15, 2023 will be charged a 10% penalty for late payment on the outstanding 2023 amount.

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2023 will be transfer to property taxes.

Note: West Bench 4th Quarter invoice will be issued January 2024. This invoice will not be part of the 2023 transfer to property taxes.
