The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is celebrating Earth Day at West Bench Elementary in Electoral Area “F” on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. 

RDOS Community FireSmart, WildSafeBC, RDOS Recreation, and Okanagan and Similkameen Invasive Species Society (OASISS) will be in attendance. 

• RDOS Community FireSmart will provide FREE mobile wood chipping for West Bench residents. For more information, please visit firesmart.rdos.bc.ca or click here to pre-register. Residents may choose to drop off branches at the gravel parking lot beside West Bench Elementary. 

• PITCH-IN with RDOS Recreation and help clean up the West Bench area. For more information on how you can participate, please contact Nancy Wigley with RDOS Recreation at nwigley@rdos.bc.ca. Clean-up gear and refreshments will be provided to the volunteers. 

• Meet with your local representative, Riley Gettens, Electoral Area “F” Director. 

• Talk to an invasive species specialist from OASISS to learn more about invasive plants in the West Bench area and how you can help reduce their spread. 

• Share your feedback on how we can make Earth Day part of every day.
