Eastgate residents invited to participate in RDOS FireSmart™ chipping event
News ArticleAs communities continue to focus on wildfire preparedness, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) and FireSmart™ are inviting Eastgate residents to participate in a community chipping event on Monday, October 19, 2026. The event will help residents reduce wildfire hazards around their homes and properties while contributing to a safer, more resilient neighbourhood.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to remove flammable vegetation and wood debris from their properties before winter. Small actions taken today can help reduce wildfire risk, strengthen neighbourhood resilience and support safer communities in the years ahead.
