Recovery Information Centre - New Summerland location opens Tuesday, September 1, 2026
- Open Tuesday to Saturday, beginning September 1, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Location: Giant’s Head School, 10503 Prairie Valley Road
- Services include information and resource support for needs arising from the fire
- Partner agency recovery and Emergency Support Services (ESS) volunteers on-site on Fridays

Princeton-Summerland Road is closed to through traffic until further notice, except for residents with a Temporary Access Pass. Several properties are under Restricted Access Status, and residents and crews will be in the area. Watch for traffic control. Alternate routes: HWY 5A and HWY 3.
BC Wildfire Service: An Area Restriction Order has been implemented in the vicinity of the Bald Range Wildfire. This Order took effect at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on August 29, 2026, and remains in force until the earlier of 12:00 noon PDT on September 12, 2026, or until the Order is rescinded. Restricted Access Status for Faulder, South Meadow Valley and Callan Road, Electoral Area "F", Saturday, August 29, 2026, 5:00 pm
The RDOS has transitioned the following properties on Evacuation Order to Restricted Access Status:
- Specified properties within Faulder, Electoral Area “F”
- 26 Marsh Lane, 155 Marsh Lane and 464 Fish Lake Road, Electoral Area “F”
- 351 Callan Road and 365 Callan Road, Electoral Area “F”
This is an important step in the community’s recovery process and is intended to support residents as they begin restoring and rebuilding their properties following an emergency.
As of 5:00 pm Saturday, August 29, 2026, there are no longer any properties under Evacuation Order in Electoral Area “F”; these properties have transitioned to Restricted Access Status.
Please note that the transition to Restricted Access Status will remain in red on the RDOS interactive map until further updates can be made; these areas will be updated to Restricted Access Status (blue) from Evacuation Order (red) as soon as possible.

The ESS Reception Centre at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre has closed. Residents who require assistance can continue to contact ESS by phone at 250-486-1890, available daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
