RDOS and City of Penticton seek leaders for Regional Economic Advisory Panel
News ArticleINFORMATION RELEASE
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) and the City of Penticton are inviting applications from business-minded and community-focused individuals to serve on a new Regional Economic Advisory Panel. Whether you are a business owner, industry professional, or community leader, this is an opportunity to put your knowledge and experience to work for the benefit of the region.
Panel members will help shape the future of regional economic development in the South Okanagan and Similkameen by establishing strategic priorities and direction on the annual work plan. The panel will operate as an independent, arms-length advisory body to the RDOS Board of Directors and City of Penticton Council. Members will share their experience and perspectives to help support a strong, resilient, and sustainable regional economy.
"We are looking for people who care about the future of our communities and want to share their expertise," said RDOS Board Chair Mark Pendergraft. "The Regional Economic Advisory Panel will bring together diverse perspectives to help identify opportunities, address challenges, and support economic growth across the region."
"The people who live, work, and invest in our communities bring valuable insight and experience," said City of Penticton Mayor Julius Bloomfield. "We encourage qualified individuals from across the region to apply and help inform regional economic development priorities."
The panel will consist of eight members, with four representatives appointed by the RDOS and four appointed by the City of Penticton. Members will serve three-year volunteer terms and meet approximately twice per year.
Applications will be accepted until August 31, 2026. Interested individuals are invited to submit a resume and brief statement of interest outlining their interest and relevant experience.
Applications are to be submitted by email to Community & Environmental Services at cs@rdos.bc.ca. Please note if you reside within the RDOS or City of Penticton.
