The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) continues to monitor weather conditions with regional and provincial partners.

Emergency Support Services (ESS) volunteers are standing by to assist if needed.

Landslides and rockslides are impacting several roads and highways. Residents and visitors are reminded to use caution around fast-flowing bodies of water and when travelling on roads and highways. Watch for crews and first responders.

On Thursday, December 11, 2025, the River Forecast Centre upgraded to a Flood Warning:

  • Similkameen River tributaries, including headwater tributaries and upstream of Princeton
  • Tulameen River

Weather Synopsis:

Rainfall has eased through the region; however, rivers are still responding to runoff from rain and snowmelt. Flows continue to rise to very high levels along tributaries of the Similkameen River at and upstream of Princeton, including the Pasayten River, Upper Similkameen, and Tulameen Rivers.

  • Ashnola River (DOWNGRADED)

Background:

BC River Forecast Centre Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship

High Streamflow Advisory means that river levels are rising or expected to rise rapidly, but that no major flooding is expected. Fast-flowing bodies of water increase risk to life safety. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Flood Watch means that river levels are rising and will approach or may exceed bankfull. Flooding of areas adjacent to affected rivers may occur.

Flood Warning means that river levels have exceeded bankfull or will exceed bankfull imminently, and that flooding of areas adjacent to the rivers affected will result.
