Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan open house events

INFORMATION RELEASE

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS), in partnership with Diamond Head Consulting Ltd., is hosting a series of open house events to provide information about wildfire resiliency planning. Diamond Head Consulting Ltd. was selected by the RDOS to create a Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP) for Electoral Areas “B”, “C”, “D”, “E”, “F”, “G”, and “H”.

The events will be informal, and residents can drop in anytime during the open house to view displays, ask questions, and speak with the project team. There is no formal presentation, just an opportunity to learn more about wildfire resiliency planning.

Open House #1: Thursday, June 12, 2025, 4:00 to 7:00 pm

  • Area “B” (Cawston, Lower Similkameen)
  • Area “G” (Rural Keremeos, Hedley, Olalla)
  • Area “H” (Rural Princeton, Tulameen, Coalmont, Eastgate)

Location: Princeton FireSmart Office, 111 Vermillion Avenue, Princeton

 

Open House #2: Friday, June 20, 2025, 5:00 to 8:00 pm

  • Area “E” (Naramata)
  • Area “F” (Greater West Bench, Rural Summerland, Okanagan Lake West)

Location: RDOS Main Office, 101 Martin Street, Penticton 

 

Open House #3: Saturday, June 21, 2025, 5:00 to 8:00 pm

  • Area “C” (Rural Oliver)
  • Area “D” (Skaha East, Okanagan Falls)

Location: Okanagan Falls Fire Department, 5013 - 11 Avenue
