RDOS Building Inspection staffing

News Article

The Development Services Department at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is currently operating with reduced staffing. The staffing shortage is due to recent vacancies, which the RDOS is working to fill as soon as possible. In the meantime, building inspections are being completed by three staff members in two member municipalities and the following electoral areas:

  • Electoral Area A (Rural Osoyoos)
  • Electoral Area C (Rural Oliver)
  • Electoral Area D (Carmi, Skaha Lake East, Okanagan Falls, Vaseux Lake)
  • Electoral Area E (Naramata, Falconridge)
  • Electoral Area F (West Bench, Husula Highlands, Faulder, Summerland North)
  • Electoral Area I (Kaleden, St. Andrews, Twin Lakes, Highway 3A, Apex, Green Mountain Road, Farleigh Lake, Marron Valley Road)
  • Electoral Area H (Rural Princeton)

Building permits take approximately four to six weeks to process, but may take longer due to the current staffing shortage.

To book a building inspection, please call the Building Inspection Request Line at 250-490-4100 or complete the online form at www.rdos.bc.ca. Thank you for your patience and understanding while RDOS staff work to expedite building inspection requests.
