EOC Update: Kennedy Lake remains on Evacuation Alert due to Garrison Lake wildfire August 6, 2021 11:00 am

News Article

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) is advising property owners and residents in the community of Kennedy Lake in Electoral Area H, an Evacuation Alert remains in effect.

An Evacuation Alert means being prepared to evacuate your property immediately.

If you have a fifth wheel trailer, recreational vehicle or motorhome, please start the process of relocating it now.

During an Evacuation Order, access and road issues will not permit movement of fifth wheel trailers, recreational vehicles, motorhomes or boats.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuations; you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

Prepare to move persons with mobility concerns, children and/or neighbours, if assistance is needed

If you identify as having extraordinary needs, call the EOC: 250-490-4225

Current information is posted on the EOC website and RDOS social media channels.

The EOC is in regular communication with BCWS to assess the status of all Evacuation Alerts and Orders within the RDOS.
