INFORMATION RELEASE

The Province of British Columbia has appointed Tracey Batten as Chief Election Officer and Philippa Harding as Deputy Chief Election Officer for the inaugural council election for the District of Okanagan Falls.

The first general local election for the newly incorporated municipality will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Voters will elect a council consisting of one (1) Mayor and four (4) Councillors.

Residents interested in running for office can obtain nomination packages beginning at 9:00 am on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Nomination packages are available:

• In person at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) Office, 101 Martin Street, Penticton
• In person at the Community Services Office, 1109 Willow Street, Okanagan Falls
• Online on the District of Okanagan Falls project page at rdosregionalconnections.ca.

The nomination period provides an opportunity for eligible residents to seek elected office and help shape the future of the District of Okanagan Falls as it transitions to municipal governance.
