INFORMATION RELEASE

A new addition to the Okanagan Falls Museum is helping preserve and share the story of local rodeo legend Kenny McLean.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) donated a limited-edition bronze statuette of McLean to the museum. The piece is a replica of the life-size bronze sculpture in Centennial Park created by B.C. sculptor Lois Hannah.

McLean grew up in the Okanagan Falls area and became an accomplished rodeo cowboy whose career spanned several decades. He was also appointed to the Order of Canada. Today, his achievements and ties to the community are recognized through the Kenny McLean Room at the Okanagan Falls Museum.

The donated statuette is now part of the museum’s collection, providing residents and visitors with another way to discover McLean’s story and his significance to the Okanagan Falls community.

To see the statuette and explore the Kenny McLean Room, visit the Okanagan Falls Museum, 1145 Main Street, Okanagan Falls.
