Electric vehicle decal design winners

INFORMATION RELEASE

In the spring and summer of 2023, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) hosted electric vehicle (EV) information booths at seven community events. The information booths are part of ongoing efforts to share information about the benefits of EVs.

The EV initiative was completed with support from the Emotive Community Outreach Incentive Program (COIP). Funding for the COIP is provided by the Province of B.C.’s CleanBC Go Electric Program and is administered by Plug In BC (a program of the Fraser Basin Council Society) to assist with delivering Emotive campaign activities that raise the awareness and profile of EVs in BC.

Residents who visited the RDOS EV information booths spoke with staff and industry experts to learn more about how EVs work, the pros and cons of EVs, and the role EVs can play in strengthening communities.

The booths featured a competition to design a decal for a new RDOS Parks and Facilities electric van. The RDOS received 80 design entries, which were reviewed by a committee. With so many creative entries, it was difficult for the committee to choose just one design that best represented the outreach initiative. The committee selected three designs that were combined to create the van decal.

The designs were used as inspiration by Jafa Signs to create a vehicle wrap for the RDOS Ford E-Transit electric van.

The RDOS would like to thank everyone who submitted decal designs for their creative contributions.
