RDOS Vacation Rental Survey ResultsNews Article
The results of the Vacation Rental Survey were presented to the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) Board on March 16, 2023, and have been published on RDOS Regional Connections.
Since 2014, the Regional District has been regulating the operation of vacation rentals, or short-term rentals, in residential buildings through the issuance of Temporary Use Permits (TUPs). In response to increased public concerns over short-term rentals, RDOS staff conducted a Vacation Rental Survey in early 2023. The results of the survey will inform a Board review of vacation rental regulation in the region.
The Vacation Rental Survey, active from January 3 to February 15, 2023, received over 1,630 responses from across the region. An additional 24 current or past Temporary Use Permit (TUP) holders filled out a separate survey.
Thank you to all participants for taking the time to share your thoughts on vacation rentals in the Regional District.
