The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is facilitating a FireSmart chipping event in Naramata on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Residents are encouraged to participate by removing flammable materials from their properties and placing debris piles at the end of their driveways for pick-up. The RDOS-sponsored mobile chipper will begin circulating the neighbourhood at approximately 9:30 am.

Accepted materials:

• Branches, trees, and twigs up to 8" (20 cm) in diameter
• Shrubs and bushes (e.g., cedars or junipers) with no roots attached

Not accepted:

• Raked pine needles or leaves (please bag and dispose as yard waste)
• Roots, grass, vines, weeds
• Dirt, rocks, construction, or wood waste
• General household garbage
