INFORMATION RELEASE

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) is pleased to announce that construction improvements at the Adra Tunnel along the Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR) in Naramata, Electoral Area “E”, are now complete.

The tunnel and surrounding area are fully open to the public. Construction crews have left the site, and all temporary closures and detours have been removed.

The Adra Tunnel project focused on improving the safety, usability, and long-term sustainability of this historically significant section of the KVR. Completed upgrades include trail resurfacing and grading, improvements to parking areas, and the installation of new amenities such as benches, picnic tables, bike racks, garbage cans, split-rail fencing, wayfinding signage, and a pit toilet.

The project also supports the restoration of the Adra Tunnel as a celebrated heritage and recreational landmark, enhancing the experience and accessibility for residents and visitors alike.

The RDOS thanks the community, trail users, and residents for their patience and cooperation during construction.

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the Adra Tunnel and the surrounding trail while respecting the site and natural environment.
