Temporary Access Permit (TAP) update
News ArticleThe Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) Emergency Operations Centre is currently reviewing a high volume of Temporary Access Permit (TAP) applications.
If you have already submitted an application, please DO NOT submit a duplicate application or attend a checkpoint unless and until RDOS has approved your application. You will be notified once a decision has been made. Reapplying will not speed up your request.
Temporary Access Pass requests are reviewed for emergency circumstances only and may be assessed based on:
• Life safety considerations
• Livestock welfare
• Critical Infrastructure
• Commercial fruit growing and farming operations
The following are NOT considered emergency circumstances:
• Lawn maintenance
• Landscaping or garden watering
• Property appearance concerns
• Personal pets (unless there are exceptional life-safety or animal welfare circumstances)
• Medication - Please visit a pharmacy for an emergency supply

Please do not wait at a checkpoint for your application to be processed.
Checkpoints must remain clear and accessible for emergency responders.
Individuals without an approved Temporary Access Pass WILL BE turned around.
