INFORMATION RELEASE

Due to scheduling conflicts, the public hearing for a Zoning Amendment Bylaw involving 1313 Greyback Mountain Road in Electoral Area “E”, which was recessed on Thursday, October 5, 2023, and scheduled to reconvene on Thursday, October 19, 2023, will reconvene on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 9:00 am. The public hearing will take place at the Regional District office at 101 Martin Street, Penticton, BC.

This amendment is being sought to facilitate the development of a composting operation and a public works and maintenance yard.

Amendment Bylaw No. 2800.24, 2023 proposes the following amendments to the Okanagan valley Zoning Bylaw No. 2800, 2022:

-  amend Schedule ‘1’ (Zoning Text) by introducing a new Resource Area Site Specific (RAs) regulation at Section 12.1.8(d)(iv) in order to permit “composting operation” as a principal use, and “public maintenance and works yard” as an accessory use; and,

  -  amend Schedule ‘2’ (Zoning Map) by changing the land use designation of the subject property from Resource Area (RA) to Resource Area Site Specific (RAs)

Copies of the bylaw, along with other basic information, may be inspected at:  www.rdos.bc.ca (Property & Development → Planning, Zoning & Subdivision → Current Applications → Electoral Area “E” → E2023.008-ZONE). This bylaw may also be inspected at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen office at 101 Martin Street, Penticton, BC, on weekdays (excluding statutory holidays) between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm up until the close of the public hearing on Thursday, November 16, 2023. 

Anyone who considers themselves affected by Amendment Bylaw No. 2800.24, 2023, can present written information to the Regional District prior to or at the public hearing and may also speak at the public hearing. No letter, report or representation from the public will be received after the conclusion of the public hearing.
