INFORMATION RELEASE

Emergency Preparedness Week (EP Week) takes place May 5-11, 2024. EP Week is a time to learn about getting prepared for emergencies.

EP Week encourages Canadians to take three simple steps to become better prepared to face a range of emergencies:

Register for the PreparedBC webinar on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 5:30 pm (PT). Learn how to prepare for emergencies, including some of the ways you can use technology to help. The deadline to register for the webinar on Zoom is Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is reminding residents and visitors to take action to be better prepared to protect themselves and their families during emergencies. This includes making a personal preparedness kit. Emergencies happen. Depending on their severity, your household could be on its own for several days while officials help those who need it most.

Please visit the RDOS Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) website for resource links and information.

For further information, please contact Shane Houlihan or Gilbert Chan, RDOS Emergency Program Coordinators.
