Traversing everything from desert orchards to world-class vineyards, the KVR Trail in the Okanagan and Similkameen valleys will take you through a tour of some of the most diverse and unique landscapes in the province.
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) encompasses 10,400km from Manning Provincial Park, Apex Mountain Resort, Cathedral Provincial Park and the communities of Penticton, Summerland, OK Falls, Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos, Princeton and Naramata. The KVR is a defining feature of the region with its history touching almost every community in the Regional District. Recognizing the value of this regional asset, the RDOS is a proud supporter of the KVR Trail and in 2003, the Click, Hike & Bike webpage was launched on the RDOS website to promote the trails within the region.
In 2014, Click, Hike & Bike was upgraded to include maps, new trails and internet mapping technology and has become one of the most popular pages on the website. The Internet mapping allows users to zoom into any area of the region and view trails on an aerial photo base and obtain detailed descriptions on key sections and access points. A new function allows users the ability to interactively measure how far they have traveled.
Most of the Kettle Valley Trail traverses wilderness or rural areas with limited services. If planning an excursion for a day or two, consult more extensive information from maps, trail access points, gradients, possible detours and services.
