News ArticleINFORMATION RELEASE
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Mark Pendergraft, Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) chair/Area “A” director attended the Music on the Mountain concert and grand opening of the JSMP Pavilion. Jim Zaffino, RDOS Chief Administrative Officer also attended the event, which took place at Jamie Soule Memorial Park, located in Area “A”, east of the Town of Osoyoos.
The grand opening provided an opportunity for the community to gather, connect, and celebrate the late Jamie Soule, who served as Deputy Chief of the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department (AMFD).
"The RDOS was honoured to participate in the grand opening of the JSMP Pavilion," said Mark Pendergraft, RDOS chair. "The pavilion and park pay tribute to a well-loved resident who worked to strengthen the community. The pavilion is the result of the tireless efforts of volunteers who oversaw its construction."
The Regional District and the Anarchist Mountain Community Society (AMCS) upgraded Jamie Soule Memorial Park for recreational use and constructed the pavilion to serve as an important amenity. AMCS manages the park and hosts community events in and around the pavilion.
