The Keremeos Transfer Station will have extended hours of operation for the existing days of operation beginning Sunday, March 1, 2026.

New operating hours:

Summer (March 1 – November 30)

• Open Sunday and Wednesday
• 8:30 am - 4:15 pm

Winter (December 1 – February 28)

• Open Sunday
• 8:30 am – 4:15 pm

Previous summer hours were Sunday and Wednesday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and winter hours were Sunday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. 

In the summer of 2025, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) distributed an Hours of Operation survey to gather feedback on the Keremeos Transfer Station’s operating schedule. The survey was initiated in response to long lineups and bottlenecks experienced during peak hours.

The RDOS is hopeful the extended hours planned for 2026 will help alleviate these issues. RDOS staff will continue to monitor the effectiveness of these changes.

Keremeos Transfer Station tip:

To avoid longer wait times, consider arriving a little after opening, as this is typically the busiest time of day.
