Interior Health Authority

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Public Works staff has worked with Interior Health Authority and their consultants to identify issues around the availability of up to date data for water quality in all areas of our Regional District, including those water systems that we do not manage. Public works often recieves calls from residents with questions about their water quality that are outside of any of out existing water service areas. Interior Healthy Authority has developed new tools to help those residents identify their water purveyor and determine if there are any existing water quality advisories. We also recommend that residents continue to contact their local provider with any questions and concerns.

Interior Health Autority states:

"In partnership with Interior Health, Be the Change Group has created the Drinking Water Advisory Map. On this site, there are all current water advisories in an interactive map, educational videos about what an advisory means, and how the water system work in your community. We believe drinking water should be accessible to everyone. One way to improve accessibility is to post about water advisories online and educate our communities.
