Matt Taylor colour low resMatt Taylor grew up at the coast, but his ties to South Okanagan run deep. He spent many summers racing sail boats on Vaseux Lake in the 1970s, and one of his first jobs, after obtaining a degree in Agricultural Economics was as an agricultural lender based in Osoyoos.

While working as a ranch hand before going to university, Matt learned the importance of teamwork and getting things done by working together. Whether building corrals or baling hay, he saw that you get more done by working as a team, and that lesson stuck with Matt. He also learned the value of good leadership and management in any organization, big or small.

Matt feels fortunate to have had a varied career, including some 30 years working as a project manager and association executive in the not-for-profit world, resolving the problems experienced by farmers and ranchers, both individuals and businesses, working with their associations and the provincial and federal government. Matt believes these skills and experiences are directly transferable to working with Area “D” residents and businesses. Matt sees himself as a team player who values good leadership and strong management.

Matt and his wife semi-retired to live in Okanagan Falls while operating a small property management business in Penticton. He can be seen most every morning walking with his dog on the KVR Trail north of Okanagan Falls or biking around the town.
