Celebrate Earth Day with free transit
News ArticleThis Thursday, April 22, 2021, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) along with BC Transit and municipal partners will be offering free public transit across the region in recognition of Earth Day.
“Earth Day is celebrated globally in order to promote environmental initiatives,” says RDOS Chair, Karla Kozakevich. “It’s a reminder of the importance to examine our daily behaviours and identify opportunities that can positively affect the environment while reducing our carbon footprint.”
The RDOS will waive fare collection this Thursday (April 22) in order to support public transit users as they commute across the region. The following routes will be offering free transit this Earth Day:
- Route 10 Naramata - Penticton
- Route 20 Okanagan Falls - Penticton
- Route 21 Okanagan Falls - local
- Route 30 Summerland - Penticton
- Route 40 Osoyoos - Penticton
- Route 41 Osoyoos - local
- Route 70 Kelowna - Penticton
