The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen 2022-2026 Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw 2953, 2022 is available to view on the RDOS website at www.rdos.bc.ca. The Budget Bylaw was read a third time as amended, and adopted during the March 3, 2022, Board of Directors meeting.

The 2022-2026 Financial Plan was reviewed by the Board at two workshops held in November 2021. On January 6, 2022, the Board gave first reading to Bylaw 2952, 2022, allowing community consultation to commence. The Bylaw received second reading on February 17, 2022, as amended.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, in-person presentations were limited. Community consultation included electronic and in-person meetings for Electoral Area D, a virtual meeting for Electoral Area I, and virtual presentations for the District of Summerland, Town of Oliver, City of Penticton, Town of Osoyoos, and Town of Princeton.  “Public feedback is vital during the budget process and contributes greatly to the work done by RDOS staff and the Board of Directors,” says RDOS Manager of Finance Jim Zaffino.

Okanagan Similkameen Regional Hospital District (OSRHD)
The Okanagan Similkameen Regional Hospital District Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw 169, 2022 was read a third time and adopted during the February 17, 2022, OSRHD Board of Directors meeting.

Fees and Charges Bylaw
The RDOS Fees and Charges Bylaw 2955, 2022 is scheduled to be adopted during the next Board of Directors meeting on March 17, 2022. The RDOS Board establishes fees and charges for various Regional District services and information. In accordance with the Local Government Act Section 397 (imposition of fees and charges and Section 462 (fees related to applications and inspections), the Regional Board establishes fees and charges which reflect cost recovery for services and information provided. The Fees and Charges Bylaw is posted annually on the RDOS website.
