Olalla Local Community Commission By-Election

Declaration of Election by Acclamation

Due to a vacancy on the Olalla Local Community Commission, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen will hold a by-election for the office of Local Community Commissioner.  One person will be elected to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term ending October 2018.  It is expected that the by-election will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Nominee Qualifications

A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a Commissioner of the Olalla Local Community Commission if they meet the following criteria:

  • Canadian citizen;
  • 18 years of age or older;
  • Resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
  • Reside in the Olalla local community; and,
  • Not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office.

Nomination documents will be received by the Chief Election Officer:
