EOC Update: Thomas Creek and Brenda Creek Wildfire Status

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) continues to work with BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) to monitor the Thomas Creek wildfire in Electoral Area D, and Brenda Creek wildfire in Electoral Area H. 

Both fires are currently listed as interface fires on the BCWS website and Evacuation Alerts remain in place for 704 properties in Electoral Area D, and 42 properties are under Evacuation Order in Area H.

Brenda Creek

Search and Rescue and RCMP members have been deployed to conduct Evacuation Orders for the community of Headwaters, in Electoral Area H due to the Brenda Creek wildfire. The RDOS continues to monitor the situation with BCWS. Please avoid camping or recreational activities near the area.

Thomas Creek

Residents on Evacuation Alert should be prepared to leave their homes on short notice. The RDOS continues to monitor the situation with BCWS. The Okanagan Falls boat launch has been closed in order to assist with BCWS operations. An area restriction notice remains in place.
