RDOS Budget 2022
The RDOS finance department is responsible for the preparation of the annual operation budget. The RDOS budget establishes the tax rate for each service the Regional District provides. In addition to taxation, there are local services such as water, sewer and garbage which are funded through user fees. Budget presentations will be uploaded to the RDOS YouTube channel following first reading in January 2022.

First reading of the Budget Bylaw is scheduled for January 6, 2022. Date to be confirmed.

Budget presentations will take place throughout January and February 2022.

Notice of curbside garbage cart size
Electoral Area A, B, C, D, E, F, G, I and Village of Keremeos

RDOS curbside contractor Waste Connections Canada (WCC) recently completed an internal audit due to injuries and an increase in the number of trucks required for collection. Waste Connections determined the size of some curbside garbage carts is much larger than the contract allows for. As a result, some carts were tagged and not collected. WCC has agreed to permit the use of the oversize 360L carts for residential garbage collection provided the cart is no more than half-full and the weight does not exceed 57 kg (125 lbs).

Existing 360L carts can be used for recycling which is unlimited. If the 360L cart is not blue, it must be labelled ‘Recycling.’ Recycling stickers are provided by the RDOS at no charge.

Voyent Alert! replacing CivicReady mass notification system

In December 2021, the RDOS will be transitioning to the Canadian-based company Voyent Alert! for routine and emergency notifications. The new notification system uses geo-targeted technology to pinpoint exact properties, rather than notifying the entire Electoral Area.

To ensure a smooth transition to Voyent Alert!, please sign in to your CivicReady account and confirm the primary address of the property you are receiving alerts for.
