Electoral Area "D" Governance Study 2015/2016
ELECTORAL AREA "D" GOVERNANCE STUDY COMPLETE
The Electoral Area "D" Governance Study is now complete!
The RDOS would like to thank the volunteers and citizens of Electoral Area "D" who took the time to complete surveys, come out to forums, and comment!
Do you live or own property in Kaleden, Okanagan Falls, Lakeshore Highlands, Upper Carmi, Heritage Hills, Twin Lakes, St. Andrews or Apex? Have you ever wondered what services the regional district provides or how decisions are made about those services? What the cost of services is and how to have your say in decisions affecting your local community?
The Area “D” Governance Study will provide you with answers to these questions and offer opportunities for residents and owners throughout Area “D” to share their perspectives. What’s working? What’s not? Why?
Ultimately, the study will explore and propose options within the current regional district structure to improve the way Area “D” is governed and the way your local services are delivered.
Get to know your Regional District!
The study is being lead by a local Governance Study Committee with representatives from across Area D (Committee Terms of Reference), together with Left Side Partners a consultant engaged by the Committee. The first task is to prepare summaries, or Fact Sheets, of the services the RDOS provides to the communities in Area “D”. Each Fact Sheet explains the service, how it is delivered, how decisions are made, and what it costs. Learn about how the RDOS makes decisions that affect the local services you receive.
Get the facts on each service by clicking on the links below.

Once all the Fact Sheets were distributed, the committee asked for your input and ideas through SURVEY#1.

- I know who to contact if I have a question or concern about any of my local services.
Three Governance Forum Open House events were held during March, in Okanagan Falls, Kaleden and Apex. The Forums were attended by approximately 60 residents. Thanks to everyone who attended and provided thoughtful input to the study. If you missed the Forum events and want to check out the Poster Boards click on them below.
