What We Do

Community Services

The Community Services Department provides a variety of programs and services throughout the Region including support to various community groups that deliver RDOS initiatives.

The Community Services Department Functions include:

 1.       Regional Emergency Management Program

    • Responsible for emergency planning , response and recovery

2.       9-1-1 Emergency Dispatch Services

 

3.       Parks, Trails, Recreation and Leisure Services

    •  Eight RDOS Board appointed Commissions and two Service Contracts
    •  Approximately 60 Volunteers
    •  RDOS Click, Hike & Bike(TM) Trail information database that provides you with a wealth of information and online maps on more than 150 existing trails.

4.       Regional Parks

    • Swimming, sandy beaches, hiking trails, historic sites, picnic areas, and baseball diamonds and provide unique topography, flora and fauna.

5.       RDOS owns and maintains community assets that consist of:

    • Community facilities and halls, swimming pools, playgrounds, tennis and pickleball courts, riding stable, skateboard parks, ball fields, and libraries
